Rystrom was appointed by Gov. Arnolf Schwarzenegger to the five-member PERB board in Augusty 2007. She became chair in February 2009. The board enforces collectivee bargaining laws that cover more than 2 millionCaliforniz public-sector employees. ” Rystrom entered the legal fielr after six years in advertising and She started in 1977 as judicialp clerk in the California Court of Appeal. She went on to becomr deputy district attorney in Marin County before moving to the Office of the Californiwa Attorney General and into private She is survived byher long-times partner, California Labor Commissioner Angela
