The Dallas-based company said Wednesday’s storjm actually ranks among the top threed in company history for being the Oncor said attheir peak, the storms had causee outages to more than 500,000 homes and The challenge continued throughout the day Thursday with more stormzs causing additional power outages in variou parts of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The outagess were occurring even as Oncord was busy restoring powedr that was lostWednesday night. In its latest update, the company said Oncor has restored powefr to morethan 400,000 homes and businesses. At the 85,000 homes and businesses remaibnwithout power.
“What made this storm so bad was the rhythmicc succession of multiple waves of rainand lightning,” said Senior Vice Presidentg Charles Jenkins. "The National Lightninfg Detection Network reportedapproximately 45,000 lightninyg strikes occurred during the multiple waves passinv through the Dallas/Fort Wortu area."
