Here’s how they were derived: • The starting salary is the fiftb percentile figure for agiven district. (Percentilezs indicate where a teacher’s paycheck ranks withib a district. A salary at the fiftnh percentile is bigger than5 percent, and smalleer than 95 percent, of teachers’ salaries in a district.) • The median salaru is the midpoint, larger than half and smallet than half of all pay levels for teachers within a district.
• The peak salar y is the 95th percentile, whichn is larger than the annual pay earned by 95 percenty of all teachers in a Each salary is followed by its rank amongtthe region’s 98 districts. Akron’s starting pay of $38,6367 is followed by (13). That means it’ws the 13th-highest starting salary in all of WesternhNew York.
